- Abstract:
- To enhance the scientific rigor and precision of drainage pipeline network management and maintenance, defect inspection data from a representative city in the Yangtze River basin were used to conduct a systematic comparative analysis of three mainstream assessment methods from China, the United Kingdom, and North America, along with a self-developed dual-indicator system. The study examined numerical distribution characteristics, threshold division differences, indicator correlations, as well as the distribution and mapping of assessment grades, quantitatively comparing the performance of the four methods in assessing structural and functional defects. The results indicate that the four methods differ significantly in value ranges, calculation logic, and grade settings, and that therefore their selection should be carefully aligned with specific engineering needs, management objectives, and application scenarios to ensure the effectiveness and applicability of the assessment results. The self-developed dual-indicator system can provide continuous and extendable quantitative outputs, thereby supporting decision-making for both short-term maintenance and long-term asset management. The findings can offer scientific evidence to inform the updating and optimization of drainage pipeline network condition assessment standards.
