- Abstract:
- In a new building materials park in Tianshui City, Gansu Province, there are currently no wastewater treatment facilities. To prevent direct wastewater discharge from polluting the environment, a new wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 1 000 m3/d was constructed. Given the significant variations in influent quality and poor biodegradability, the following process was adopted: coarse screening and influent pumping room + equalization emergency tank + fine screening + mixed coagulation tank + primary sedimentation tank + A/A/O biochemical tank + secondary sedimentation tank + final sedimentation tank + ozone contact tank + cloth media filter + contact disinfection + tailwater discharge. The effluent quality met the first level A limit specified in Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB 18918-2002), with the removal rates of COD, TN, and TP reaching 88.9%, 75.0%, and 92.9%, respectively. The treatment structures were arranged in an intensive layout, with each treatment unit designed as a combined tank. This layout effectively reduced pipeline head loss between structures, saved land use, facilitated centralized management, and lowered operational costs. Compared with traditional decentralized single?structure layouts, this project saved approximately 25% of land, reduced pipeline head loss by about 3.0 m, and cut annual operational electricity costs by approximately 5 000 CNY/a.
